David Long
David Long – CEO
David Long won an entrance scholarship from Carleton University for Computer Science in 1990. His interest in math began with his successful independent reproduction of the well known three-body problem during his physics course using his personal computer. This problem was considered to be intractable until it was formally solved in 2000 (Cris Moore). David moved quickly to Computer Mathematics, continuing his interest in Set Theory, Group Theory, Chaos Theory and Fractals. He graduated from Carleton University with a B.Sc. in Computer Mathematics. During his time at Carleton he served in the Governor General’s Foot Guards as a reservist. The armed forces recognized his ability to think on his feet and do calculations under combat conditions early on. David was the youngest member of his unit to go on his leadership course after qualifying on machine guns. He lead the course and graduated as the Top Candidate on the Infantry Section Commander Course. Also the youngest Master Corporal in his unit at the time. Through his relationship with his reserve unit, he went on to work in the defense sector doing Electronic Warfare Simulation. In this position he applied his math and analytical skills to working on military communications, GIS systems and prediction. He moved from there to designing OC3 applications at Nortel Networks. David founded SageTea Software in 2012, and invented the SAGETEA methodology based on his earlier studies in Set, Group and Complexity theory. Today he is the author of Canadian and US Patents entitled: “System and Method to Transform a Complex Database Into a Simple, Faster, and Equivalent Database”. David’s research in algorithmic complexity combined with his experience in business is embodied in the SageTea Software’s products and is what empowers their unique abilities to offer high performance customized solutions with significant relevance to modern machine learning applications.
