Text To Software includes a Robotic Process Automation (RPA) Smart Part. This works by chaining business rules together with a simple “Stop” and “Playback” feature.
RPAs are built in Text To Software from Business Rules that are linked together in order to make chains. The RPA is controlled with simple “Stop” and “Playback” buttons along with a refresh.
Click the “Edit” button to open Text To Software from within SDCS. Navigate to the Design tab and select the RPA workflow to edit the RPA. The RPA operates on the front end through the Stop/Play controller shown above. Back end operations are performed through code that can be added to the individual business rules. Business rules may access front end or the back end server depending on the code.
Robotic Process Automation is used to automate repetitive actions that are often performed by human users. By observing these actions on the user interface, these can be recorded and then automated. This allows processes to run much faster and often with a higher degree of reliability. Back end server side functions can be triggered by adding small amounts of code into the individual business rules that makeup a particular RPA. RPAs are also a useful compliment to machine learning functions, allowing different types of AIs to interact with each other as part of an overall low code workflow.
