Summary of our early results

 

Our Data and Analytics strategy is based on leveraging our core SageTea technology. At the data level, our patented SAGETEA data model provides an effective way for storing and managing data. It is SQL based and compatible with all command database platforms including PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, MS Access, and many others. It has been in active use for over 10 years and has served our clients with smooth, error free performance in a variety of industries including Health Care, Medical, Transportation, Finance, and Government. The SageTea data model is a linear algorithm that has unique properties when used in conjunction with Machine Learning applications. Together with our Low Code AI platform – Text to Software, we can offer a highly customizable low code approach to building enterprise level data analytics applications.

Our strategy works well with legacy systems and databases, where we use Reverse Engineering / Roundtrip Engineering to analyze existing requirements, databases, and business logic to leverage what is already in place and leverage more to increase value. Business analysts like working with our low code tools. We provide them with faster and better ways to deliver value to their organizations.

In reference to existing business logic, written in languages such as Java, Python, or C++, our strategy is to map out existing code bases and layer low code user interfaces onto it using Text to Software. For mature systems, a significant amount of the effort is commonly at the user interface level. By bringing in low code, we reduce costs related to software development, increase agility for organizations, while leveraging existing investments made in code for business logic. This is well received by in house dev teams, who now get a newer better way to do their existing work and offer more value to their organizations. Text To Software comes with an integrated Extract/Transform/Load (ETL) tool (SageTea ETL) that maps existing databases into the SAGETEA data model, making them easier to work with and leverage, along with supporting new customizable business reports.

With respect to machine learning, SageTea Software has pre-built solutions that focus on modeling risks in unstructured data – the SageTea AI Risk model. We can analyze the types of risks (such as Legal, Financial, Operational, Human, or Other) through an easy to customize dictionary that labels risk statements to drive the resulting AI model. This model can also be reflected to analyze beneficial outcomes from risks, which can then be used to model areas of opportunity for an organization.

SageTea Software also has off the shelf AI models that can do image processing for applications such as Field of View for use in CCTV and security related applications where monitoring is required. Additionally, SageTea has licensed AI models which can predict outcomes of legal cases based on analyzing data sets from CANLII. With respect to NLP, we have expertise in designing AI based chatbots and enabling people with disabilities, such as those with visual impairment using AI.

Data governance
⦁ Drawing up data governance standards and policies to ensure data availability, integration, quality, security, proper usage, etc.

⦁ Designing data architecture to govern how data is captured, integrated, stored, analyzed, and used.

⦁ At SageTea Software, Low Code is at the heart of what we do. Low Code takes much of the complexity and risks out of real-world problems and it’s how we support the principles of ITIL. Our System Administrator for this project is Kyrylo Kolomoiets. He is ITIL certified and can assist with guiding the project architecture and infrastructure implementation. ITIL® Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management (ITILF) Issued 19 Nov 2016.

SageTea Software provides “low code” development where business analysts use the platform to describe what they want the software to do using human understandable English and the SageTea platform employs an expert system to design, develop and implement the solution. This allows for rapid “Production-ready Prototyping”. This innovation has been recognized by the Federal Government as a huge step forward, and recently SageTea Software has been awarded two Build in Canada Innovation Program (BCIP) contracts.

Artificial Intelligence

Text to Software Deep Learning is able to analyze documents and unstructured data. This capability can be used to identify and visualize risks and controls in a Healthcare organization.
Text to Software Deep Learning is compatible with SageTea Link Deep Learning, providing deeper insights into Healthcare data.

 Healthcare Application

SageTea data analytics was initially pioneered in the Healthcare industry.
Early testing of our technology began in a variety of small medical practices in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Our initial approach was to focus on the processes we encountered and then studied how Text to Software could be used to automate them.
All of the research and technology we produced from our testing is now included with Text to Software as SageTea EMR and SageTea Long Term Care.

Summary of our early results

⦁ Text to Software was first utilized to process patient processes for Ophthalmology. This resulted in a customized workflow including tracking data for a variety of medical devices used in medical imaging.

⦁ Text to Software was tested with a third party medical insurance billing system using web services. The system went live and is still in operation today. We also used Text to Software to integrate private billing with non-private billing under the same system.

⦁ Text to Software was tested with additional medical specialties including Podiatry and Plastic Surgery. These specialist processes were also successfully converted into uniquely customized medical applications.

⦁ We analyzed the workflow around medical scheduling and produced a customizable multi-day view calendar that links to patient records. The medical scheduling calendar can be color coded based on business rules, tied to appointment reasons, rooms/resources with support for email notifications, Outlook and ics (appointment files).

⦁ Text to Software was tested as a cloud based application with medical practices, providing both web based and desktop based software to multi-user medical practices.

⦁ We analyzed requirements around audits in medical environments, producing an “audit trail” workflow that can be added to any medical process using Text to Software. The built in audit trail capability records user actions throughout the system in real-time.

⦁ We used Text to Software to build and test a Patient Survey tool customized for the Long Term Care medical sector. This system includes customized alerts and reporting designed around optimizing the quality of care.

⦁ We used Text to Software and our data migration services to rescue an End of Life EMR which a medical practice still needed on a daily basis. The End of Life EMR was fully reverse engineered including rescuing 24,000 patient records. The next generation EMR was fully designed using Text to Software and is still in operation today.

⦁ We compared our standardized approach to navigation in a test with a senior physician. He observed that it was easier to navigate to the information he needed than what he had from his current EMR.

What these results show

⦁ Text to Software is able to produce customized medical workflows at a cost that makes it an ideal tool for medical specialists.

⦁ On a larger scale, its ability to integrate across medical specialties using a single tool and methodology makes it work both for single doctor/room practices, multi-room medical sites, mid-size long term care facilities with potential for hospitals.

By automating expert knowledge organizations can maintain key skills upon which the organization depends, allowing them to be transferred to other workers and repeated across an organization.
